Lynn was born in Goose Bay, Labrador, Newfoundland to a military family. Self-discipline came easy to her and she went on to work in retail sales and food service management. This led to a 34-year career with a provincial Liquor Control Board. She retired as a manager and moved from country living into the city of Kingston, Ontario where she resides with her husband of over 50 years. She discovered soap making in January of 2015 and has successfully competed in the craft soap market since then.
Roger is from England, but has been in Canada since 1967. He has had a varied list of careers. At one time, he worked for one of Canada’s former prime ministers, but, primarily as a chef in food service and as a manager of retail stores. Having also grown up in a military environment, he developed a strong and confident ability to ensure things are done right. His artistic and creative flair also compliments that of Lynn’s.
The soap and body products are made to be attractive and well-scented, maintaining the “simple” look of hand crafted products created with quality and safe ingredients. Simple Soaping is a joint effort, but Lynn is the creator and main operator of the business. Her drive leads to many different creations that are sold at craft markets and a handful of retail stores, and has recently established a website in order to make her products available to a wider audience.
